Domaines de Recherche:

  • Dispersion larvaire. Determination des roles du phenotype parental et l’environnement sur la dispersion larvaire
  • Changements environnemental sur les organisms récifales. Investigation comment le changement climatique et les stresses anthropogeniques (noise pollution et le tourism) influencent le response de stress (cortisol) et si les organismes montrent de l’habituation
  • Acidification de l’ocean (OA) et le stress thermique.  Determination si l’acclimatation transgenerational et/ou developmental par un mollusc aux effets d’OA et le stress thermique peuvent mitiger l’impact négatif sur leur developpement embryonique et larvaire
  • COTS. Investigation dans les trade-offs entre le reproduction et le system immunitaire dans le toile de mer mangeuse de corail, Acanthaster planci, et les méthodes d;eradication en utilisant les injections des produits naturelles comme le jus de citron pour controller leur outbreak

I am a behavioural biologist/endocrinologist interested in conservation. I am British but was first introduced to France during an ERASMUS year in Marseille during by BSc where I studied bioerosion of sea urchins from Moorea lagoon. My research continued during my PhD at UEA, Norwich (UK) during which I studied the coevolution between a freshwater fish, the bitterling, and freshwater mussels. During my Post-Doc, I investigated the mechanisms that maintain genetic variation in reproductive traits using both a small mammal, the bank vole, at Jyvaskyla University, Finland, and the side-blotched lizard at UCSC, Santa Cruz, USA.

I joined the CRIOBE laboratory in 2006 where I work on a range of topics in both evolutionary biology and conservation including how environmental change affects reef organisms, particularly the consequences of their hormonal stress response.
