Résumé :

Climate change is now such a reality that it is vital to understand if and how populations will cope with such changes and we also need to put in place measures to improve the chances that populations will survive. This project is made up of two parts, bringing together conservation ecology and conservation physiology. While the first part focuses on marine protected area (MPA) ecological assessments using the most recent state-of-the-art methodology, the second looks at phenotypic plasticity in response to elevated water temperatures at the individual and population levels. The pristine status of the Îles Éparses and historic exposure to elevated sea surface temperatures along a latitudinal gradient set the perfect stage on which to address vanguard questions related to environmental stressors and biodiversity management.
