Remote Learning

MANEA is a platform containing more than 110 coral reef teaching videos organised into 5 teaching units that will provide you with fundamental knowledge on biodiversity, ecology, and the conservation of these ecosystems.

History of the Center and its research on coral reefs since 1971.

Introduction to the biology and ecology of tropical reef ecosystems.

This UE is intended for Master 1 level students.

Deepening critical concepts surrounding tropical reef ecology such as biodiversity or biogeography. Detailed courses on the life cycle of many marine organisms (corals, fish, turtles, molluscs, crustaceans, algae) and issues related to climate change.

These courses are mainly intended for Master 2 level students.

This teaching unit focuses on the social and anthropological dimensions of coral reefs. People are an integral part of this environment and should be included in ecological studies. Fisheries and ecosystem services are discussed here.

These courses are mainly intended for Master 2 level students.

This teaching unit is transversal to all the others, providing essential training in fieldwork methods necessary to any study in coral reefs ecosystems. It focuses on building practical skills necessary to understand the environment and management: ichthyological and benthic monitoring and identification of different taxa.

These courses are mainly intended for Master 2 level students.

Each teaching unit represent about 30h of lectures, tutorials and lab work. Sea detailed courses.
